Hello, Lantern Bearers.
One year ago today, I began with two words. Hello, wanderer.
I had no idea who would answer.
Over the last year those two words became conversations, friendships, books, lanterns, laughter, tears, old oaks, rivers and echoes I could never have imagined. I have a community that surrounds me that supports, engages and sits by the campfire, making the fire burn a little brighter.
Looking back, I realise now the promises I made in that very first post. “I don’t promise noise. I don’t promise answers. But I do offer a place to pause.”
I do hope, over the last year, I’ve kept that promise.
You watched and read as Caerwyn was built one whisper at a time. You walked beside Storme, Riven, Mera, The Ferryman (Erelan) as their world unfolded weekly. You lingered in chapters shaped by rhythm, and ambient soundscapes. By Ambyion. Together, we built not only a story but a place to warm, to be, and to gather.
Thank you for walking this road with me. Thank you for giving Caerwyn your time.
The lanterns are still lit and burning over Caerwyn. New ones rise every day.
The path continues.
But for a moment, we will pause as we celebrate one year on Substack.
Thank you
~ Nerra.
If you’ve enjoyed walking these paths with me, you can make a wish… and toss your coin into the campfire’s wishing well, simply click the image. And thank you truly.
This story continues from The Blade & The Storme.
Book 1 of The Caerwyn Chronicles.

Goosebumps. It's been such a wonderful adventure. We began practically in unison and it has been so great following along your journey as you have mine. Here's to an even better year, much love🐦⬛
Congrats on one year on Substack, and I’m glad that it’s been a year on Substack that’s been full of lots of good warmth and gathering. 🙏💯❤️
