Nerra, up to this point in The Storm and the Blade what I like most is your artistry in the way a quietly gathering love between Storm and Riven, coupled with danger intrinsically wound through the narrative, has begun to build a delicious sexual tension. When will it happen...
This gave me chills—the way you wove memory, weight, and silence together felt almost too real. I’ve had my own (much smaller) versions of carrying things longer than I wanted to, realizing they shape how I move through the world.
It made me think: sometimes the hardest part isn’t the storm itself, but learning how to hold it with structure—naming it, breaking it down, and deciding what stays and what gets left behind. Systems do that for me in writing: they turn shadows into something I can actually carry.
It’s the kind of thread I keep pulling on in my Notes—how clarity gives us a way to face the mess without being swallowed by it.
Thank you so much, your comment is wonderful. One of my aims is to let the silence speak in this story. Riven and Storme are both carrying more than they can say aloud, and sometimes, what isn't said is where the truth lives. I am really glad that resonated with you. ~ Nerra ⚔️⚡⚖️
This is quietly devastating in the best way... your world-building and the way you let dread gather at the edges of ordinary moments is magnetic. I can’t wait to dive back into this one—so glad I found it.
Thank you so much. Your words hit me right in the ribs. I really appreciate your comment. You captured the mood and I am so pleased.
I try to let the silence speak in this story… and sometimes, yes, dread gathers softly around the edges, like it’s waiting. Knowing that resonated with you, truly means the world. I am so glad you have chosen to step into Caerwyn. Thank you ~ Nerra ⚔️⚡️⚖️
Thank you so much, that means more than I can say.
Riven doesn’t often show his edges. But in this chapter… we see a crack in his stillness, just for a moment. I’m glad you noticed it. Those small glances of vulnerability are the ones that linger for me, too. ~ Nerra ⚔️⚡️⚖️
Slowly you reveal more… just so thrilling ❤️

You're welcome Neera ⚡️
I like how you let silence do the work between Storme and Riven

I enjoyed the small glances of vulnerability we saw in Riven in this chapter.
Thank you so much, that means more than I can say.
